Welcome to the eighth edition of the Mitsol Fibre South Coast Scoop, keeping you in the fibre loop. This newsletter will keep you up to date with the status of all Mitsol fibre builds in Amanzimtoti and provide you with some important facts about fibre.
If you missed the previous newsletter, Edition Six, not to worry, Mitsol FTTH South Coast Scoop – Edition Six
Mitsol Fibre Build Progress Report
* Athlone Park – 100% completed and is live.
* Doonside Beach Road – 100% completed and is live.
* Kingsborough Beach Road – 100% completed and is live.
* Warner Beach – 100% completed and is live.
* Amanzimtoti North of Seadoone Road Up to Manzimtoti River – 100% complete and is live.
* Amanzimtoti North of the Manzimtoti River – 100% complete and is live.
Doonside, Doonheights, Shulton Park – Civil work commenced on 11th January and we anticipate having this area live by middle to the end of March. We are taking pre-orders and have started home drops.
Winklespruit East – This build has been delayed and we now anticipate civil work to commence in the first week of March. This area will go live by middle to the end of April. We are taking pre-orders and will start to book home drops.
Inyoni Crescent – Civil work is 100% complete and we anticipate having this area live by middle to the end of March. We are taking pre-orders and will start to book home drops.
Doonside North R102 – This build has been delayed and we now anticipate civil work to commence in the first week of March. This area will go live by middle to the end of April. We are taking pre-orders and will start to book home drops.
Illovo Glen, Astra Park, St Winifreds, Winklespruit – Builds have not yet commenced, as we have been waiting for the other contractors to complete their work before we move in.
* Note, please ensure that you get your orders submitted for the above areas ASAP, as home fibre installations are currently taking anywhere from 1-2 weeks to complete, and this is due to the influx of orders being fulfilled. If you have placed an order with your ISP and have not yet received any follow-up emails from Mitsol, please let us know.
Cancel Your Obsolete Telkom Lines
30% SAVING
Did you know that once your fibre has been installed you can then cancel ALL your Telkom services. You can keep your telephone number by porting it to your preferred ISP, this will save you having to continue paying Telkom a line rental. This service is commonly known as VoIP (voice over IP).
The VoiP call rates differ from ISP to ISP, so we recommend you request a rate structure from your preferred ISP. In our experience the ISP rates are really competitive and are typically 30% cheaper than Telkom.
If your next question is, “Can I use my existing analogue phone for VoiP services?”. The answer is unfortunately, NO. You will require a VoIP phone and your preferred ISP can assist you with a quotation.
