Backlog
The request for Fibre has been overwhelming and we’d like to thank the Amanzimtoti community for their support. In fact the support has been so positive that we’ve had to bring in additional contractors from Gauteng to assist us with the backlog. Unfortunately though we are still falling behind on the fibre completion within the individual properties. This is due to civils teams getting through their installations rather quickly and leaving the fibre technicians trailing behind, who are now almost two weeks behind in bringing customer’s services up.
We are busy inducting some additional fibre contractors into the system and ask that you please bear with us while we try get things back on track.
Comparing Apples with Apples
As you are aware, you have a choice of two FNO’s (Fibre Network Operators), Mitsol and Frogfoot. We thought we would assist you with a quick price comparison of the packages for ISPs that offer services over both Mitsol and Frogfoot’s Fibre Network. We were pleased to find that pricing over the Mitsol network has remained super competitive. This strengthens our pledge to customers to ALWAYS! offer Fast Fibre at Fantastic Prices!
How Is Fibre Installed On My Premises?
The installation of the fibre involves running a fibre cable from the manhole outside your property, or distribution box within a multi-dwelling unit (MDU), through your property to the inside of your home and connecting it to the internal device called an ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
The drawings below indicate the basic planning for bringing fibre into your apartment or house (fig.1) and your building (fig.2)
